Chapter 14- Rose'
I knew I was wrong for leaving like that. I regretted it once I looked in the rearview mirror and Remy was looking at me driving away. I just needed a minute to myself and out of the house. The walls were starting to close in on me. After being in jail and closed in for so long, I hate being in one space for an extended period of time.
My daily routine is getting breakfast ready for Heaven and Remy, making sure their clothes are ready for them to start the day, keeping the house clean, and making sure dinner is on the table every night when he gets home from a hard day. I'm not complaining because that's what a wife is supposed to do. I just feel like I don't have anything to do with myself.
I needed someone to talk to because Remy didn't understand. I wanted to talk to Neicee but she was at the club. I might have been mad but I wasn't stupid. I knew he would come and drag my ass out of there. I didn't want them type of problems with my husband. He's too good of a man to me for me to be blatantly disrespectful, and I love him too much for that. He gives me the world and I appreciate everything he does for me and my daughter.
I drove until I ended up at Madear's house. I hoped and prayed my father wasn't here. He had his head so far up Remy's ass he could tell what he ate. I wasn't mad at my father though. He really loved and appreciated Remy for the things he does for all of us. My entire family loves Remy. Shit, I'm starting to think they love him more than me. Heaven loves him so much she no longer calls him Remy. That's her daddy and you can't tell her different. These days it's Ace who?
"What brings you over here on a Sunday? I got pot roast, baked macaroni, smothered cabbage, and cornbread if you're hungry." Madear was sitting on the couch watching Law and Order: SVU.
"I just needed to get out of the house, Madear. I'll take me a plate to go." I sat down on the couch next to her.
"Make sure you make Remy a nice plate. He works hard baby. You have to keep him fed." Once the words left her mouth I exhaled loudly in frustration.
"What happened with you and your husband?"
"Nothing."
"Don't bullshit me. He has called here several times looking for you. Why would you leave without telling him where you were going?"
"That's just it. I have to tell him everything. Everything I want to do, I can't do. The walls of my house are starting to close in on me. Day in and day out, all I do is sit in the house and take care of Remy and Heaven."
"It sounds like your wifely duties are too much on you. I'll give you a word advice. Do your job or he'll find someone to do it better.
